Membership
The MRC of S is administered by an Executive Committee which meets quarterly. It comprises a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Medical Officer, Training Officer, Equipment Officer and Statistician. It also contains representatives from the Association of Chief Police Officers (Scotland) and the Aeronautical Rescue Co-ordination Centre (Kinloss). It has the authority to co-opt additional members and at present there are members representing the Scottish Mountain Leader Training Board, Mountain Rescue Council, Mountaineering Council of Scotland and the Scottish Mountain Safety Forum. The Editor of CASBAG is also a co-opted member.
The General Committee of the MRC of S meets twice each year. It comprises representatives from the 28 mountain rescue teams in Scotland (23 civilian, 2 RAF, 3 Police), the Search and Rescue Dog Association as well as other organisations including the eight Police authorities, the Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy, HM Coastguard, CHC Helicopters, the Mountaineering Council of Scotland, the Scottish Mountain Safety Forum, the Scottish Ambulance Service, sportscotland and the Scottish Cave Rescue Organisation.
